End-to-End Supply Chain: Customer Ontime Delivery

End-to-End Supply Chain: Customer Ontime Delivery

Data and Calcuations

End to end (E2E) supply chain involves an entire integrated process.  From product design and procurement of raw materials then scheduling, production and then final delivery of finished product to the customer.

E2E supply chain performance can be measured by tracking on time order delivery.

There are two types of ontime delivery:

    1. COTD for Customer ontime delivery with respect to promised dates . It can be calculated below:
    • COTD_Delta = Ship_Date – Promised_Date
    • If COTD_Delta >1, Late Delivery, else Ontime Delivery.
    • COTD % = 1- (no of late delivery)/(total customer orders) over a period.

COTD measures how well the supply chain keeps the promise, or ability to manage supply chain.

    1. CROTD for Customer ontime delivery with respect to customer’s request dates. It can be calculated below:
    • CROTD_Delta = Ship_Date – Customer_Request_Date
    • If CROTD_Delta >1, Late Delivery, else Ontime Delivery.
    • CROTD % = 1- (no of late delivery)/(total customer orders) over a period.

CROTD measures how well the supply chain meets customers’ expectation, or supply chain’s flexibility.
